MILTECH - The Baykar Bayraktar Kızılelma is a jet-powered, single-engine, low-observable, supersonic, carrier-capable unmanned fighter aircraft, currently in development by Turkish defence company Baykar. The aircraft is being developed as part of Project MIUS
Baykar CTO Selçuk Bayraktar, said that the Kızılelma is expected to fly in 2023, adding that a jet-powered UAV was a ''12-year-long dream.''
The integration test of the first engine of Bayraktar KIZILELMA, an unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Turkey originally from Baykar, has been successfully completed.
A critical step has been taken in the development process of Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which was developed in-house and which Baykar is the first to be the first aircraft of our country. The connection test of the first engine with the first version of Bayraktar KIZILELMA has been successfully completed. Announcing the development on his Twitter account, Baykar technology leader Selçuk Bayraktar said:
"To KIZILELMA... Bayraktar KIZILELMA completed its first engine installation test today." use those sentences.
First flight in 2023
The test series of Bayraktar KIZILELMA unmanned combat aircraft, which was developed from Baykar's 20 years of experience and a large collection of technologies, will continue with ground tests. It is expected that the first flight of Bayraktar KIZILELMA will take place in 2023.
Landing and take-off capability on short runway ships
Bayraktar KIZILELMA will be a platform that will change its battlefield and its landing and takeoff capabilities, especially for ships with short runways. Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which was designed to be able to board short ships like the TCG Anadolu ship, which was built by Turkey and is currently undergoing sea trials, will play an important role in foreign travel through this . authority. With this capacity, he will play an important role in protecting the blue homeland.
Air combat with aggressive maneuvers
Unlike unmanned aerial vehicles, Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which can conduct air-to-air combat as an aggressive military aircraft, will use this feature to change the balance on the battlefield. The unmanned military aircraft, developed by Turkish engineers and technicians with the experience of Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar AKINCI, will also be effective against air targets and air-to-air missiles.
Ukraine continues engine deliveries for Bayraktar KIZILELMA
Answering questions from GDH Digitial at TEKNOFEST 2022, Baykar Technology CTO Selçuk Bayraktar said that Ukraine continues to deliver unmanned aerial vehicles to KIZILELMA despite the war. It is planned to use AI-25TLT and AI-322F turbofan engines from Ukraine at KIZILELMA. There will be 1 different engine options, 25 AI-322TLT, AI-2F or 322 AI-3F for different needs. A contract was awarded to Ukraine for the supply of engines for KIZILELMA.
